Heavy vehicle testing to restart - ATF Lanes

The DVSA (Driver Vehicle Standards Agency) has announced that heavy vehicle testing is to restart from 4th July.

Since lockdown, mot testing for heavy goods vehicles has been suspended with ATF lanes being closed as a preventative measure during the outbreak. Any vehicles that were due during that period were issued with a 3-month exemption.

This month all of our ATF lanes have been audited by the DVSA in order to prepare for the government to lift restrictions and are now ready for testing to begin again once the resource is available.

So can I book my test in?

There are obviously a lot of vehicles awaiting a test now and the DVSA is looking to restart things in the safest way possible. So to provide certainty to operators, they have/will be issuing a 3-month exemption to all vehicles due for an annual test in June and July.

According to the DVSA, from August, vehicles that have already received an exemption will need to be tested. All vehicles due to be tested in August will receive a 3-month exemption.

As a business, TruckEast are ready for when we receive confirmation of our first test days and look forward to being able to offer this service again to you our customers.
