Graham takes on Ride across Britain for Alzheimers

TruckEast's Director, Graham Broughton gets ready to Ride across Britain later this year; raising funds for UK charity - Alzheimer's Society.

Putting his mind and body through an endurance challenge like no other, the Deloitte Ride across Britain will see Graham cover a total of 980 miles. The scenic yet demanding route starts on 4th September and lasts nine days. Alongside his son and hundreds of others riders, Graham will set off from Land's End through the rolling hills of Cornwall and finishing at John O'Groats. But it's not just the miles that they'll be clocking up; the challenge means a total ascent of 52,529ft.

This is one challenge not to be attempted on a whim and Graham has demonstrated his commitment with his ten month training programme already underway as he aims to reach a fundraising target of £4,400.

"Quite possibly the hardest thing I have ever, or will ever do, the Ride across Britain is going to be like nothing before. But as with every challenge I've been part of, I'm not just doing this to push myself physically and mentally. It's to raise money for a worthy cause. And in this case one close to my heart, Alzheimer's Society. I can tell you first hand this is not a disease that only affects the old, and any donation, no matter how small, will contribute to making a difference to someone's life," explains Graham.
